Reynolds Landing

Reynolds Landing area

Reynolds Landing Park is a 13-acre parcel along the South Platte River that currently includes an existing open space, the Superchi property (an abandoned house that the city acquired) and a stretch of ecologically degraded river. Littleton has partnered with Mile High Flood District, South Suburban Parks and Recreation and Arapahoe County since 2016 to begin transforming the space. In 2020, planning efforts began to restore the river. Through public engagement and expansion of partnerships, the project grew to incorporate the surrounding parkland and create a strong access to nature and serve as a gateway to the river.

In March 2023, the City of Littleton, in partnership with Mile High Flood District, applied for a Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) community impact grant for Reynolds Landing Park construction. The grant was awarded in December 2023 and the first phase of construction is currently sitting in review the Army Corps of Engineers. Once staff receives permits back from review, construction could start by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

This park is highly valued along the river corridor and identified in master planning documents Phase 2 includes finalizing design for the park and the beginning of construction Mile High Flood District has been a critical partner in administering the design and construction contracts for all projects along the river in the city, as part of their South Platte Capital Improvement Program and Mile High Flood District funds are essential in funding this project Staff is working collaboratively with Mile High Flood District, Arapahoe County, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, and the South Platte Working Group to raise funds Littleton has funding planned towards this project through 2028 in the Open Space fund.
